Why Punjabi should be the educational and official language of Punjab?

It is the command of God that; We sent not an apostle except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. (14-4)

By avoiding the Punjabi language.
By disowning Punjabi culture.
By ignoring Punjabi traditions.

Punjabis are wasting their time.
Punjabis spoiled their personal life.
Punjabis are spoiling their social life.
Punjabis will spoil the future of their kids.

Punjabis don't know the real power of Punjabi.
Punjabis do not know the reality of Punjabi that;
Punjabis are the largest ethnic group in Pakistan.
The Punjabi nation is the 9th biggest nation of the world.
The Punjabi nation is the 3rd biggest nation of the South Asia.
Punjabi Muslims are the 3rd largest ethnic Muslim community in the World.

It is all, due to not providing the right of education in the mother language of Punjabi people and not declaring the Punjabi as an official language of
Punjab.

The Punjabi language has emerged as an independent language in the 12th century. Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar is generally recognized as the first major poet of the Punjabi language. Revered by Muslims, he is considered one of the fifteen Sikh bhagats and selections from his work are included in the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh sacred scripture.

Punjabi language is an older language than Urdu and has a richer cultural and spiritual asset as compared to Urdu. After invading Punjab in 1849, Britishers planted the Urdu and Hindi in United Punjab for their political pity interests to divide the Punjabi nation by diverting the Muslim Punjabis towards Urdu language, Hindu Punjabis towards Hindi language and retaining the Punjabi language for Sikh Punjabis. Hence Urdu became a virus in the cultural and spiritual grooming of Muslim Punjabis.

As the Punjabi language has groomed by the Sufi saints, therefore, Punjabi language has a spiritual background and Punjabi language has potential for wisdom related inventions and intellects to develop the moral character for good deeds of life and spiritual development for the life of the hereafter.

For skill related inventions and intellects, usually international Lingua-Franca plays an essential role, but for wisdom related inventions and intellects, spiritually rich language is of vital importance, especially if it is your mother language. Therefore, it is in the best interest of Punjabis to adopt the English as an international Lingua-Franca and Punjabi as their national language.

If we start speaking other languages and forget our own, we would not be we, we would be clones of an alien people; we would be aliens to ourselves" UNESCO, 1958.

Punjabi is an actual, original and potential language of
Punjab and Punjabi nation. A language groomed, patronized, propagated by the “Sufi Saints of Punjab”. Therefore, it is an earnest need to implant the Punjabi language as an educational and official language of Punjab.

  1. I agree Punjabi should be taught in the schools as a compulsory subject. But Urdu should be the official national language. The instruction in all subjects should be in Urdu but explanation of complex topics should be explained in Punjabi too. Pakistan should mot abandon Urdu at provincial level. Punjabi and Urdu both should be spoken in courts, offices, Punjab assembly and Municipal councils.

    1. After implementing Punjabi as an educational and official language of Punjab, there will be no need of Urdu in Punjab. Urdu is not an international Lingua-Franca. Therefore, English will be suitable as a second language in Punjab due to the international Lingua-Franca status of English.

    2. As for the status of national language of Pakistan. The Pakistan is composed upon land of Indus Valley Civilization and nowadays, Indus Valley Civilization land in Pakistan is classified as;

      Punjabi region of Indus Valley Civilization.

      Sindhi region of Indus Valley Civilization.

      Balochi region of Indus Valley Civilization.

      Pukhtoon region of Indus Valley Civilization.

      Therefore, due to status of English as an international lingua-franca and the Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pashto as the languages of native inhabitants and provincial languages of Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the national languages of Pakistan should be the English, Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pashto.

  2. Punjabi is spoken by 60% Punjabis as first language and 20% others speak Punjabi as second language in Pakistan.

    Problem is not in speaking of Punjabi. Problem is of making Punjabi as an educational and official language of Punjab.

    Urdu is not a lingua-franca for international trade and business than, why Urdu is an educational and official language of Punjab? Why Punjabi is not an educational and official language of Punjab?

    There is difference between national language of any nation and langua-franca for international trade and business. Punjabi is the national language of Punjabi nation and English is the lingua-franca for international trade and business.

    Langua-franca always take change according to the international trade and business requirement of nation but the national language always remain the national language of the nation. In past for centuries, Persian was the lingua-franca for international trade and business in Punjab and it was replaced by the English.

    Neither the Urdu is a national language of Punjabi nation and nor the Urdu is a langua-franca for international trade and business than; what is the justification for Urdu to be the educational and official language of Punjabi nation?
